Get involved.
Church works because ordinary people pitch in. Nobody is expected to do everything, and nobody who is new is expected to do anything. When you are ready, here is where help is needed.
-
Welcome team
Be the first friendly face at the door, help people find a seat and introduce them to someone.
-
Morning tea
Set up, pour, chat, pack down. Possibly the most important ministry in the building.
-
Music
Singers and musicians who lead the congregation on Sunday. Practice during the week.
-
Kids Church and creche
Teach, help or just be an extra pair of hands. Working With Children Check and Safe Ministry training required; we will help you get both.
-
Youth
Help run Sunday afternoon youth group with David. Same checks and training as Kids Church.
-
Bible reading and prayer
Read the passage or lead the prayers in the service. Short, meaningful, and easier than it sounds.
-
Sound, slides and video
Run the desk, put the words on the screen, upload the sermon. Training provided.
-
Hall and grounds
Working bees, small repairs, keeping a heritage building looking loved.
How to join a team
- 1
Mention it to Greg or anyone on a Sunday. That is genuinely all it takes to start.
- 2
Try it once alongside someone. Every team pairs newcomers with someone experienced for the first few weeks.
- 3
Anything with children needs two things first: a NSW Working With Children Check (free for volunteers) and our Safe Ministry training. We will walk you through both.
